Description

The Scope of Work for this contract includes demolition, redesign, and installation of the entire fire protection systems for two hangars on the Naval base in Belle Chasse, LA; the overhead pre-action foam-water sprinkler system in one hanger and the dual overhead wet pipe sprinkler and lower-level foam pipe systems in the other hangar shall be redesigned to better serve its purpose. The scope includes demo of all existing piping, foam controls and foam storage equipment and teh installation of a new complete wet pipe system from above and lower-level foam-water systems from below. Along with the replacement of the low-level foam system in one hangar comes the demo and replacement of the detection and release system. The new detection system will use triple-IR (infrared) technology. The new foam system will be eight new self-contained foam monitor nozzles in each hangar bay. The detection and release systems will also interface with the existing building FACP (fire alarm control panel) for the purpose of sending alarm signals to the base reporting system.
