DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this project is to significantly reduce the wave energy impacting the shorelines of Little Lake and Bayou Perot and to protect the adjacent marsh areas from further degradation. This project is authorized by the Coastal Wetlands, Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) which funds construction of coastal wetland restoration projects in Louisiana. This project consists of the construction of an estimated 28,722 cy of encapsulated lightweight aggregate, 123,000 sy of geotextile and 124,000 tons of rock riprap. Other activities associated with this work shall include contractor quality control, construction surveys, excavation for flotation access, warning signs and markers, and settlement plates.
